“If you persist in staying silent at a time like this, help and deliverance will arrive for the Jews from someplace else; but you and your family will be wiped out. Who knows? Maybe you were made queen for just such a time as this.” (Esther 4.13-14, The Message)
There is something deeply satisfying about knowing you have the chance – the privilege – to stand in the gap for the Lord. The power of this passage is not that God chose Esther to protect His people, but that He could have chosen anyone else. I absolutely love Mordecai’s dose of reality – “Hey, God’s going to do what God’s going to do. Either you’re in, or you’re out. But if you’re out, it’s your loss.”
Love it.
Challenge: What is it that God is calling you to do? Where is it that God has methodically placed you to do His will?
I definitely want to be "in."
